Manuel Arellano is a professor of economics at CEMFI in Madrid. Prior to that, he worked at the University of Oxford and the London School of Economics. He is a fellow of the Econometric Society and a foreign honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is a former editor of the Review of Economic Studies. He has been president of the Econometric Society, president of the European Economic Association, and president of the Spanish Economic Association. He has published research papers on topics in econometrics and labour economics, in particular on the analysis of panel data. He currently serves as a member of the ERC Scientific Council.
