Xiang Li is an assistant professor at Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) and Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg (MLU). She is also a guest research fellow at the Institute of Digital Finance of Peking University. She received PhD in Economics from the National School of Development at Peking University in June 2018. She was a part-time economist at the IMF office in China in 2017-2018 and a visiting research fellow at the University of Minnesota in 2016-2017. Xiang’s research fields include international finance, empirical banking and development economics. In particular, she is interested in the effects of capital account liberalization and other financial reforms.
