Paul Berbée

ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research, Mannheim

Paul Berbée works at ZEW’s Research Department “Labour Markets and Human Resources”. His research interests include applied micro-econometrics and empirical labour market research. Currently, he is working on the effects of immigration on European labour markets and the integration of refugees. Paul Berbée studied economics with a focus on labour economics, migration, and economic history. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Bayreuth. His supervisor is Professor Sebastian Braun.

Paul Berenberg-Gossler

Hertie School, Berlin

Paul Berenberg-Gossler is currently pursuing a PhD in Economics at the Hertie School, under the supervision of Henrik Enderlein. His reserach focuses on the intersection of macroeconomics, finance, and political economy. Previously, he worked as a Research Assistant at the French PM’s Council of Economic Analysis (Conseil d’Analyse économique) and as an Affiliate Fellow at the Jacques Delors Institute. He taught at FU Berlin, Georgetown University, and the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. Paul holds a BSc. in Economics from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas, a Master of Public Administration from Sciences Po Paris and a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School. Paul is fluent in German, English and French.

Emilie Berkhout

University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development

Emilie Berkhout is a Ph.D. candidate in Development Economics at the University of Amsterdam and she is a researcher at the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (AIGHD). Her research focuses on the effect of policy reforms in basic education on learning outcomes in Indonesia.

Sabine Bernard

Sabine is a 4th-year PhD student at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS) at the University of Mannheim, Germany. Her research combines empirical household finance with insights from behavioral finance. In her current project, she investigates how return distributions within and across asset classes and swings of financial cycles affect retail investors’ selling behavior.

Marco Bernardini

Bank of Italy

Marco Bernardini joined the DG Economics, Statistics and Research of Banca d'Italia in 2017. He is currently an economist in the Economic Outlook and Monetary Policy Directorate. His research studies the connections between finance and the macroeconomy, with a focus on fiscal and monetary policy. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics at Ghent University in 2017.

Clémence Berson

Banque de France

Clémence Berson is a senior economist and researcher at the Banque de France and affiliated to the LIEPP, Sciences Po. She is particularly interested in the labor market and applied microeconomics. Before joining the Banque de France, she worked at the French Treasury. She was also affiliated to the University of Paris 1 and obtained her PhD from PSE. Her research focuses on discrimination on the labor market, but also on the duality of the labor market between permanent and temporary employees and on wage dynamics.

Galina Besstremyannaya

Galina Besstremyannaya (PhD in Economics, Keio University, Tokyo; PhD in Math Methods in Economics, Russian Academy of Sciences) is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and a Senior Research Fellow at the International Laboratory for Macroeconomic Analysis at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (Russian Federation). Research interests are economics of innovation, applied IO and health economics. Publications appear in: Econometrics Journal, Journal of Empirical Finance, Health Economics, Applied Economics, Japanese Economic Review.
