António Antunes

António Antunes holds a degree in telecommunications engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal, and a PhD in economics from Nova SBE, Portugal. From 2002 on he served at Banco de Portugal’s Economics and Research Department, where he currently serves as deputy head. He has been a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the ECB since 2014. António’s research interests include empirical and quantitative macro and financial intermediation. His research has been published in the Journal of the EEA, Journal of Monetary Economics, Review of Economic Dynamics, among others.
